In this four-week online program we will use sketching, poetry, journaling and guided visualizations to get to know ourselves better. Within ourselves we have distinct parts. These show up when we say things such as, “a part of me really wants to — ” or “a part of me is scared” and these parts interact with each other. We will become acquainted with a few of these parts and facilitate their expression to see what they’re contributing to us and how or why they might be stuck. This workshop relies heavily on the work of Internal Family Systems (IFS) and our own experiences of transformational personal exploration and expression through the written word and sketching.

Week 1: Getting Acquainted with Parts – We will introduce some of the core concepts of parts work. Each participant will identify a part or several parts they would like to become better acquainted with.

Week 2: Having House Guests – In this week we will share what it is like to recognize and acknowledge the parts that have shown up. How do they get along with one another? How do they feel about each other? How do we feel about them?

Week 3: Getting Along – We will begin to help parts reconcile differences with each other.

Week 4: Moving Forward – We will explore how we bring these newfound inner relationships into our everyday life, leading to an increase in harmony, clarity, creativity, and self compassion.

By becoming friendly with our parts we tap into what we most desire and we recognize the ways we stand in our own way. The result is that we are able to reduce internal conflict and live with greater harmony.

Testimonials:

“I love how we are continuously asked by each other to share authentically, to put our guards down, and to just be; From this group, I gained a new sense of trust in people and willingness to listen without judgment or taking on the weight of other people’s emotions” ~past participant
