Crafting your Heart Story: Springtime
With Kerr Mesner
March 20, 2021
Program fee: $110
Time: 9:00 am – 3:00 pm PT
Description:
This offering is part of a series of daylong retreats which offer an opportunity to step back from the rush of our day to day lives, slow down, reflect, and recharge. In each retreat, we will take time to explore and express our own “heart story”—that is, the stories that emerge from those deep places of body, mind, heart, and spirit. We will draw on a range of accessible creative practices (written and visual journaling, collage, drama, poetry, and prose), and use these to give voice to our heart stories to share with each other. You do not need to think of yourself as “creative” to participate in and enjoy these retreats!
We will practice deep listening—to ourselves, to each other, and to that which is greater in our lives. Participants will leave this workshop with experiences of several accessible arts-based approaches to storytelling, experiences of community story-sharing and listening, and with the beginnings of an artistic rendering of their own heart story. These retreats are geared to people with no creative experience, lots of experience, and everyone in between! Retreats can be taken singly or as a series; if taken as a series, there is scope to develop a longer term arts-based project to continue from month-to-month.
These retreats are facilitated responsively to the needs of the participants. A typical retreat day
will include:
- Sharing of contemplative practices in community
- Exploration of arts based approaches to spiritual exploration
- Time for deep listening and sharing of stories in community
- The option to enjoy your lunch (or afternoon tea) break with others in online community
- Opportunities to pause, reflect, and recharge for your day-to-day life
- The opportunity to share your artistic rendering or work in progress with the other retreat participants
Crafting Your Heart Story: Springtime
The days are lengthening and signs of new life are emerging. What is emerging in your life as Spring approaches? What new places of growth need tending and care? How might a gentle pause nourish your spirit during this season of awakening and emergence? Join us for a day of community, artistic explorations, deep listening, and sharing the stories of our hearts.
