Feelings guide our lives in a million ways. Whether we’re inclined to hide and avoid or ponder and express them, most of us don’t realize the extent to which they are driving our thoughts and behaviours. Feelings are sparked by emotions and coloured by the thoughts, memories, and images that have become subconsciously linked with that particular emotion. Join us as we both search and share our discoveries.

Materials: You’ll need your journal and/or note paper and a pen or pencil for the first part. We will be using magazine pages as our ‘palette’. We are not after imagery to begin with but are wanting a collection of colour. If you want to prepare ahead of time, tear magazine colours into slightly larger than postage stamp pieces and sort into baggies i.e. a baggie for greens, blues, yellows etc. (or just the colours you like). You’ll need a glue stick or any acrylic medium and scissors. Feel free to work in your journal or on cardstock. An outline of a favourite image (i.e. a bird, horse, wolf etc.) that will fit your page would also be helpful but not necessary right away. You can find almost any image on line or you can draw your own.

Handouts will be emailed directly to you just before the class.
