An Education Series Presented by the Naramata Permaculture Farm Garden

In this practical and fun half day workshop, join Rick Hatch from Cherry Tree Permaculture to learn the basics of cultivating mushrooms at home! We will explore the fungal kingdom, their roles in the landscape, and ways we can work with these amazing organisms for food and ecosystem health. You will learn accessible and low-tech methods to grow gourmet mushrooms using readily available materials.

A mushroom growing kit will be sent to your home prior to the scheduled Zoom session. The kit is small enough to fit on your kitchen countertop. The approximate size of the box is 6″x 12″x 6″. We will perform the last step in the cultivation process using supplied materials. You will be thrilled with the end product, as you watch your baby mushrooms form over the next few weeks and finally enjoy a well-earned meal of your own home-grown mushrooms! Each box should provide between 2-3 harvests.

Registration deadline to receive package in time for Christmas: December 9th

Last day to register: December 28th
