Are you yearning to continue in meaningful and uplifting conversations about aging?

These gatherings are open to those who have attended The Possibility of Age: Discover Aging as a Spiritual Path or a Spiritual Eldering Retreat at Naramata Centre

The Path of Joy: Living and Leaving Our Heart Legacy

“Those legacies that spring from authenticity and compassion of the heart                    are the most important gifts conscious elders can give

~ Ron Pevny

Many of us yearn to share our life wisdom with our loved ones and the world. Yet we often wonder how, knowing that people resist advice, lectures, and being told what to do. This can leave us feeling confused, stymied, and lacking in guidance on how to make a meaningful, positive, and enduring difference.

In three monthly sage-ing circles, we will explore ways to shape our contributions so that the best of who we are – our values, wisdom, and love – is passed on and leaves a legacy born of love. We will:

  • Reimagine a fresh, heart-based perspective on legacy.
  •  Address the negative legacies we’ve inherited as catalysts for positive change
  •  Cultivate a sage-approach to mentoring in daily life.
  •  Explore the diverse range of legacy possibilities, both intangible and tangible.
  •  Discover how to use a “legacy love letter” to share ourselves and bless future generations.

Through reflection, dialogue, and group conversation we will open ourselves to healing, guidance and inspiration that will empower us in living and leaving our heart-centered legacy. We will draw on the wisdom in Legacies of the Heart: Living a Life that Matters, by Meg Newhouse PhD.

What are Sage-ing Circles?

Aging consciously and becoming a wise elder is a process that can be greatly enriched by the company of like-minded companions. But in our youth-based culture it is not easy to find a community of people willing to talk about life and death, aging and meaning, beginnings and endings, and all of the letting go that is part of aging. To help create and nurture community, we are offering this series of Sage-ing Circles which will empower you to embrace both the challenges and opportunities of life’s third chapter.  We will explore principles and practices that cultivate wisdom, peace, gratitude, and the unfolding of your full potential.

These live, online gatherings will blend:

  • Slowing down, reflecting, and listening to your inner wisdom.
  • Exploring ideas and practices of transformative aging.
  • Engaging in dialogue with others about things that matter.
  • Learning from and be encouraged by the wisdom of the group.
  • Reflecting and taking action between sessions

This event is offered through the partnership of

Pacific Jubilee and Naramata Centre

Bursary funds are available through Naramata Centre.
