Stones: They are everywhere and offer limitless possibilities! We will look for and find design surprises using found stones as a jumping-off point. Let’s explore a few interesting approaches to create some amazing art. Fun and rewarding. Please bring an interesting rock to class – something that caught your eye and picked up somewhere!

Supply list:

  • Paper – watercolor or watermedia paper or good quality journal paper. If you are not using watercolor, please have a good weight of paper to work on – heavier than printer paper -something that can be handled a bit – like watermedia paper or good journal paper. Minimum size 6 x 8 and maxium size 8 x 10 If that’s not possible larger or smaller is fine too!
  • Extra regular printer paper for working out designs on and making notes
  • Pencil, eraser, ruler or other straight edge
  • Drafting compass if you have one or something round to trace a circle
  • Fine-tipped, waterproof marker – like a sharpie – preferably black but other colours will work if you prefer
  • The colouring can be done with any of the following that you may already have on hand: pencil crayons, coloured markers, watercolour crayons, watercolour pencil crayon, brush pens, iridescent watercolours or markers, posca pens, glaze or gellyroll pens, etc.and any other fun art supplies that might work here.
  • Watercolours (if you are using them) whatever you already have – OR a decent watercolour travel kit works well.
    • If you are using watercolour, you will also need a small brush or waterbrush, water basin, paper towel, etc.
  • A lightweight board to work on to protect your surface.

Testimonials

I found an inner painter that I didn’t know I had. It has encouraged me to “go for it” and express myself thru paint. I’m now happily painting a whole bunch of  cards and feel quite good about my progress. I have become reclusive, isolated and sad during Covid. This course perked me up and got me interested again. Thank you!

Zoom worked well in an unintentional way for me. With no one seeing my work during the class, I felt more relaxed about just having fun and painting without self censoring. An unexpected bonus and very beneficial to my end results… confidence to just go ahead and paint. ~ MP
