Going Deeper Together: Exploring Intentional Christian Community

Creating a Christian Community of Practice in Naramata (A pilot project in partnership with the Naramata Centre)
“For where two or three are gathered in my name, I am there among them.” (Matthew 18:20)

A small group of interested people, in partnership with the Naramata Centre, are working toward creating a Christian Community of Practice in Naramata.
Its purpose will be to deepen the spiritual lives of its members through the practices of prayer, worship, Scripture study, fellowship and service to the community. The community will develop its own daily and weekly rhythm of living that will foster these (and possibly other) spiritual practices. Its members will support and encourage one another, and, gently, hold one another accountable for the practices that they agree to share.
The goal is closer unity with God and transformed daily living, or, in the words of Benedictine Sister Joan Chittister, “to live ordinary lives extraordinarily well.”

If this is something that speaks to your heart and soul, you are invited to come to Naramata Centre from Monday, August 24 to Friday, August 28 for an introduction to this new community and an experience of the spiritual practices that will shape the community’s life.
This will be a chance to meet the people who are working on this initiative and “dip your toes” into the waters of community life, an opportunity to explore the possibilities of being part of a community of practice.

The community will be composed initially of people living in the Naramata area, but an integral part of the project is to discern ways to include others who want to join but live elsewhere.
All are welcome at this initial gathering.
